ROTORUA NOTES.
HUNT MEETING. The first moet of the year of the Rotorua Hunt Club was held last week, two successive meets taking place on the following Saturday and Monday. The weather throughout, though not altogether favourable for the chase, was ideal. Brilliant sunshine made for perfect visibility, and the spectators had an excellent view of horses, hounds and hare. On each afternoon, after the hunt, the followers gathered at the hospitable home of the master, Dr. H. Bertram, where a large number of enthusiastic spectators had assembled for afternoon tea. At the opening meet, after tea had been disposed of, Dr. Bertram, on behalf of the Rotorua Hunt Club, thanked the huntsman and the sporting contingent from tho Waikato for coming through, and giving so much pleasure to the Rotorua Hunt Club, lo Mr. Wynne Brown and his son they owed a debt. Three hearty cheers wore then given for Mr. Wynne Brown and tho visiting sportsmen. Mr. Wynne Brown briefly responded and congratulated the club upon the progress they had made and expressed the pleasure it gave himself and friends to visit Rotorua. Nurses' Dance. A most successful dance, arranged by the nursing staff of King George Y. Hospital, took place at tho hospital on Friday evening The ballroom was most attractively decorated with pungas, foliago and large bowls of spring flowers. Suspended from "the ceiling were Oriental lanterns. The matron, Miss Searell, received the guests wearing a frock of green beaded georgette.
