(Received Septemoer 14, 5.5 p.m.) ' NEW YORK, Sept. 13. In an interview the president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. Dailey, said: "While wo plan to circularise the executive committee by letter, in order to assure a, prompt decision regarding the Australian invitation to send a team for a Christmas visit, the association is faced with the larger problem of a definite policy for tours abroad. "We daro not sacrifice young men whose college terms or business engagements should keep them at home. In the interests of international competition we receive many invitations. We must evolve a method by which wo can encourage international visits without jeopardising tho careers of rising young players, particularly in their formative year. " We have therefore created an International Competitions Committee, which in October will make a definite recommendation for a basic policy."

Mr. Dailey would not indicate whether he personally favoured the acceptance of the Australian invitation.
