NEW MOTOR DEVICE.
IMPROVED ACCELERATION. SOUTH AFRICAN INVENTION. (Received September M. 5.35 p.m.) CAPETOWN. Sept. 13. Two motor engineers are applying a device to motor-cars similar to one recently patented in London, which guaranteed to give an extra mileage of 10 per cent.
The device improves the acceleration and keeps tho engine cool. Steam from the radiator passes through a superheater, and from there to tho condenser, and thence to the intake pipe of tho carburettor. Another tube takes the fumes from tho sump to tho valves, thonco to the intake pipo to tho engino from the carburettor. Buses are being fitted with tho device.
