Miss Given Fulton, of Hillvue, Puke koho, is visitiqg Hawera.
Mrs. Ensor and Miss E. Ensor, of Canterbury, returned from England by the Ruapehu last week.
Mrs. M. L. Atkinson and Miss Helen Atkinson have returned to Now Plymouth from a visit to Auckland.
Captaiq C. Greig, 0.8. E., Mrs. Greig and Miss H. C. Greig arrived in Wellington last week from England.
Mrs. A. J. Mallett, of Morrinsville, who has been visiting Auckland, returned to her homo on Saturday.
Mrs. Percy Jones, who has been touring England and the Continent, has returned to Auckland and is staying at Hotel Stonehurst.
Mr. and Mrs. C. Pavitt, who have spent the past seven months in Christchurch, havo returned to Minnehaha Avenue, Takapuna.
Miss L. MacShano, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs. A. Hume, of Silver Road, Epsom, leaves to-morrow on her return to Gisborne.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pago aro motoring through to Wellington to attend tho annual dental conference, which is being held there this week.
Major and Mrs. Bayley, Miss M. Bayley and Mr. P. Bayley arrived in Wellington from Erjgland by tho Ruapehu at the end of last week.
Sir' and Lady Wigram, of Christchurch, who are at present visiting England, are leaving on their return to the Dominion at the end of this month.
Mrs. Roger Muskett, of Oriental Bay, Wellington, arrived on Saturday on a visit to Auckland. Sho -will bo the guest of her mother, Mrs. Frank Stronach, of Castor Bay.
One precedent in Canterbury Chamber of Commerce affairs "went by tha board" this year, when Mrs. A. M. Spence Clark was elected as -the first woman member of tho chamber.
At Hotel Cheltenham, Devonport, a children's party was given by Mrs. G. Sinclair for Lawrence Smith to celebrate his ninth birthday. A largo cake and a Christmas tree with presents for all tho children marked tho event and in tho evening a concert was given for them, Miss E. Sinclair acted as accompanist.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Downs, of Groat South Road, Huntly, celebrated their silver wedding last Monday evening. Songs and recitations wcro given and were interspersed with dancing. A toast to tho host and hostess was proposed by Mr. D. Gillings. Among those present were: Mrs. W. Downs, Mrs. J. Gillings, Mrs. Davison, Mrs. Broadbent, Mrs. J. Alder, Mrs. Attrill, Mrs. Jobes.
Among tho visitors staying at Hotel Cheltenham, Devonport, are:—Mrs. Tudehope <md two children, of Whangarei; Mr. and Mrs. Henderson and two children, of Hamilton, Airs, and Miss Pepper, of Auckland, Miss Gail Burtenshaw, or Hamilton, Mrs, Gordon Smith and two children, of Hamilton, Mrs. Briss, of Auckland. Mrs. Gaudex and Miss Jean Gaudex, of Hamilton.
The ladies' auxiliary of the St. Andrew's Society met on Friday afternoon in the Fabian Clubroqms, Unity Buildings. Mrs. Black presided over a good attendance of members and friends. Dr. Alex Cummings gave an address on "Juvenile Delinquency" and explained the humane work that is being done by the Child Welfare Department in its prevention, treatment and cure. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. J. Howie and afterruwn tea was served by tlio ladies' committee. Songs were given by Mesdames f?vkes and Black and Miss Stacpool.
