CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB. Tho M otoopolitan Gun Club held its usual fortnightly shoot on Saturday. There was a large attendance and although weather conditions were not the best some good shooting resulted. The chief event was a 21 birds match for a trophy presented by Mr. W. Kerns. The trophy was won outright, by L. V F. Ramsey with the possible, four others divided second money with 20 each. Results wore as follows:
Xo. 1, 7 Birds' Sweepstake.—C. E. Jloilcc (17yds), tho possible; E. J. Schofield (14yds), JI. E. Knight (14yds), 11. Delicti (14yds). G. 11. Crown (Hlyds). I. Lomas (12yds) nnd P. Keene (15yds), tied for serond place with (5 each. No. 2, 21 Birds' Match, for Mr. Kerns' Trophy.—L. P. Ramsey (14yds), the possible; J. (!. Whitney (14yds), 0. H. Brown (IGyds), A. E. Macredie (16yds) nnd P. Keene (15yds). tied for second and third prizes with 20 each. Three competitors secured 1!) each and three others 18 each. Xo. 3. 1(1 Birds. .Double Ifise.—L. Peterson (15yds), and 0. E. Hodge .llfiyds), each shot 9 and divided first and second money. G. 11. Brown was third with 8. The next, shoot will be held on September 27. when Mr. J. C. Whitney's trophy will be competed for.
HAMILTON GIIN CLUB. [nr TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Sunday. The Hamilton Gun Club held a successful shoot at Ruakura on Saturday under ideal conditions. Tho principal shoot was for trophies donated by the club and was shot on a sealed handicap. After a long contest, W. J. McMiken was placed first, on the 32nd bird. G. Thrupp was second, winning from W. O'Kane on tho 42nd bird. The results wero ns follows: No. 1 Sweep, 0 birds.— E. O'Kane, G. Thrupp. H. Earlo and W. Percival shot tho possible and divided. No. 2 Sweep, 9 birds. —H. Enrle and T. Glenn shot the possible and divided. No. 3 Shoot, for Trophies, shooters to be nominated by Indies.—W. .7. McMikon, 1: (!. Thrupp. 2; W. O'Kane; 3. No. 4. Giiucrack, 7 birds.—H. Eafle and T. Glenn shot tho possible and <lividod. No. 5, Double Rise, 8 birds.—W. J. McMiken shot the possible. 11. Enrlc, 1. Glenn and A. Woolvcn tied with six each for second pine. 11. Enrlc won the shoot<>ff.
