ELLERSLIE GALLOPS.

USEFUL EFFORTS RECORDED. LADY COURT'S SMART SIX. GOLD MONEY GOES NICELY. The weather was' beautiful for training operations at Ellerslie on Saturday morning, but the recent rain had left the tracks heavy. Nearly all the fast work v;as performed on No. 3 grass track. Foot Rulo was holding Land Measure safely at the end of six furlongs in 1.22. Foot Rule could have done a little better and her effort was an encouraging one. Eager Roso traversed about nino furloncs at a sound pace, the last round taking 1.51 2-3. This mare is coming on rapidly, but slio may not bo ready for a hard race such as the Avondalo Cup promises to be. The two-year-old Informant led Royal Menu over half a mile in o4s. He did his work freely without being right at hia top at the finish. Sir Mond was too good for Kawainga. a bad track worker, over five furlongß in 1.8 2-5. Sir Mond is still looking a trifle burly in condition, but he moved with freedom and should como on rapidly with o little racing.

There was little between Tjusoma and Lady Court in a solid gallop over six furlongs in 1.19, the fastest of the morning. Lady Court, ridden out. was going the better right on the post and her showing was a pleasing one. Lusoma is also showing signs of progress, her effort being quite satisfactory for a maiden. Hannibal's Useful Task. Hannibal was not fully extended to run six furlongs in 1.2,3 1-5. This gelding is working consistently well but on past form he seems to bo a little below tho class lequired to win a big handicap. Great Emblem was not asked for his best over fivo furlongs, over which ho strode leisurely in 1.15. Grand Spirit did not seem to have much in reserve at the end of six furlongs in 1.23. The Fox and New Boy were on terms at tho end of five furlongß in 1.7 2-5. Both went nicely but neither may be ready for immediate engagements. Stimulant was stretched out only over the last two furlongs of five, the full distance taking 1.12 3-5. This follow is on the nograde and is a likely maiden winner a little later on.

Gold Money, witn a light-weight up. moved slowly away from tho six-furlongs post, and, after going fast in the middle stages, was eased up over the last furlong to finish in 1.21. She took 14 l-5s for the first furlong, tho next two in 25 l-ss, and had she been seriously after tinio would have recorded a good gallop. Gold Money finished without the least sign of distress and nppeare to be back to her best form. Ruling King moved lazily over six furlongs in 1.2 G. He may do better under silk, but does not appeal as an early winner. Catoma and Operatic, Catoma and Operatic kept together throughout a six-furlong gallop in 1.20 4-5. Catoma had the measure of his companion over tho last furlong and did his work in attractive style. Operatic is not as forward as Catoma, but he showed a nice turn of speed and will repay watching a few weeks hence. Good Idea and Tambourine were together at the end of five furlongs in 1.12. Bon ay Tea began too fast for Sub-Editor and beat him pointless over three furlong*, which she ran smartly in 38 l-ss. The two-year-old's effort was a good ono and she may be the best of the Ellerslio candidates for tho Avondalo Stakes. Sub-Editor failed to show his best but he was not knocked about to try and overtake tho filly after she had gained a big advantage. Manawhenua and Wild Country were all out to run throe furlongs in 40 2-ss. Wild Country is not improving but she has the condition to show up in the poorer classes. Red Lion cleared out from Neil, Principal and Patutahi over six furlongs in 1.24. Tho last-named trio went badly, although Principal was running on at the end. Red Lion is working encouragingly, but he is not yet in his best condition. Currajong was slightly in front of Llanore at the end of fivo furlongs in 1.7 4-5, hut there would have been nothing between them had Llanore not run wide on tho turn. Tetrarchate, who is still above himself in condition, was labouring at the end of half a mile in 53 4-ss. Kairangapai's Speed. Kairaugapai showed too much speed for Frothblower, whom he beat by a length over six furlongs in 1.22 2-5. Kairangnpai has plenty of speed but is not yet wound up for a hard race. Brampton and Prince Amans failed to impress in running six furlongs in 1.26 4-5. The two-year-olds Royal Gallant, Herbio and United finished as named over half a mile in 54 2-ss. Royal Gallant had easily the best of it and could have done better as ho was going nicely over tho last furlong. Gay Cockado was responsible for a nice effort in running six furlongs in 1.20 2-5. He is carrying a very bright appearance. Gay Idea and Spring Song wero together over half a mile in 55 4-ss. Good Boy and Escalus galloped six furlongs on the sand in 1.22 2-5. Escalus. a maiden, is showing signs of improvement in his work. The Jumpers. Respirator (Williams) jumped two hurdles in improved style. Carlaris (Hall), Diamond Queen (Butler) and Clockwork (Olive) started together, and. after Clockwork had jumped four hurdles, ho was pulled up, Carlaris and Diamond Queen going on to jump two more. Carlaris gavo a good display and Diamond Queen showed up promisingly for a novice. Clockwork was safe but lacked dash. Quincoma (Butler) and Sir Archie (Crnddock) both fenced well in a round of four h urdles. Kaniehameha (Williams) and Waltzer (Olive) were companions in a school over four hurdles. Kaniehameha gave a sound display but Waltzer was not impressive.
