The executive of tho New Zealand Associated Chambers of Commerce, 'n view of the extension of iis activities, decided to appoint an organising secretary, and at its meeting last week sulccted Mr. Graham William Massingham frorn numerous applicants. Ono of Mr. Massingham's first duties will lie to establish contact with every chamber of commerco in New Zealand, and to facilitate this ho v.ill be present at the annual conference next month rt the Hermitage. Mr. Massingham, who was bom at Epsom, England, is the only son of Mr. Georgo A. Massingham, general manager of l'arelay'd Bank. Ho was in business in Canada for some time, and was in Scotland when tho war broke out in 19L4. Ho served in Franco from 1914 to 1918, and then was sent to Russia, and lati>r to India, Mesopotamia and Persia. Ho retired from tho Army in 1923, with tho rank of major. On his arrival in New Zealand in 1924 he joined tho Colonial Motor, Company. He will lako over his now post on October 1.
