RELIEF RATIONS.
PAID FOR BY WORKMAN.
AFTER OBTAINING A JOB
The New South Wales Treasurer, Mr. Stevens, recently received a postal note for £1 from a resident of Gunnedah, in part payment of the valuo of Government rations, which he was forced to obtain owing to unemployment.
The sender stated:—"l have now se cured work for a while, and 1 think it is only right that I should pay back the value of the rations, so I am enclosing a postal note for £l, and will send along the balance next week if things keep going well."
"The very honourable attitude adopted in this case indicates that the man in riuestion is imbued with a true national spirit and is a citizen of the best possible type," remarked Mr. Stevens.
