COUNSEL ON SKIRTS.
CLAIM FOR DISFIGUREMENT.
In a personal injury claim at a London court, it was argued by counsel that a you rig woman had suffered permanent disfigurement because she had broken the tibia and fibula of the left leg. which had not mended in alignment. Tie suggested that, in view of the fine texture of modern stockings, fbo injury would always bo able to be seen.
Judge Owen Thompson, K.C.: Fashions may change. Counsel: I do not want to go into the leg-line of skirts, but. it is likely (o be a long time before tho disfigurement is covered.
The jury, after an hour's deliberation, awarded the young woman, who sustained her injury in a motoring accident, £l5O.
