PRIMARY ELECTION.
1 GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA. MR. J. ROLPH'S BIG MAJORITY. (Received August 28, 5.3 p.m.) SAX FRANCISCO. August 11. The Mayor of San Francisco, Mr. J. Rolph, has won the Republican nomination for the Governorship of California. He has defeated the present Governor, / Mr. C. C. Young, in the primary election by an estimated majority of 50,000. As California is staunchly Republican Mr. Rolph's nomination is believed to be tantamount to his election.
