MORE NEAR MUSEUM URGED. LARGE COST INVOLVED. A request that r-omo of the lights in the Domain' should be moved in order to illuminate moro adequately tho back and sides of tho War Memorial Museum was made in a letter from tho director of the Auckland Institute and Museum which ramo before the City Council last evening. All tho lamps were necessary in their present positions, reported tho city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler. No provision had been made for tho lighting of any of tho new roads in tho Domain. Should the council decido to provide lighting facil.ties for thoso in tho vicinity of the museum, 16 lamps would be necessary, involving an annual charge of £175. Th© matter was referred to tho Works Committee on the motion of tho deputymayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, who said tho amount would bo a very large outlay for lighting that portion of tho Domain.
