CONTROL OF BOXING.
PROFESSIONALS' REGISTER. POWERS OF A COMMITTEE. [n? TELKC, n APH. —VUESS ASSuCIA'IiU.V] PALMERSTON NORTH, Saturday. The annual conference of the New Zealand Boxing Association was resumed this morning. In reply to a request that the secretary should keep a register of all professional boxers in the Dominion, and tho associations informed, the secretary stated that, the associations were obliged to notify him when boxers wero imported, but that in many instances his only source of information was tho newspapers. Tho action of tin: appeal committee with relation to the appeal lodged by R. Troworn against his six months' disqualification was discussed, the secretary saying tho appeal had been dismissed, but that the committee had instructed the council to restoro Trowern's licence on August 18. Speakers criticised tho action of tho committee, stating that it was no part of its duty to reduce the sentence. The president, Mr. E. R. Wimsctt: ft. looks as if tho commit too had exceeded its powers. Tlie motion was passed recommending tho transference of money from the general fund to tho insurance fund, to build the latter up.
