Expect unsettled weather in places northward of New Plymouth and Napier, with a scattered rainfall. Elsewhere, chiefly fair to fine weather is indicated. Northerly to northeasterly winds, moderate to strong, prevailing and freshening. Fairly rough sons on tho east const northward from East Capo; smooth to moderate sens on tho west coast. Local outlook: Unsettled, with intermittent rain, but quickly improving again. Mild temperatures. Barometer, midnight, fulling 30.20 in. Midnight, Saturday .. .. 30.45 in. Temperatures in shado yesterday (t'> mid-night)—-Maximum, 63deg.; minimum, 47deg. GOVERNMENT REPORT. Tho Government meterologist reported last evening as follows: —Although pressures is still high over tho Dominion a cyelono of slight intensity bus been crossing the central portion to-dav. Barometers have risen again oyer eastern Australia. Indications are for winds moderate !o strong; northerlies at first over the North Island; elsewhere southerlics. and southerlies gradually becoming general. Seas moderate on the west coast; becoming rather rough on tho east coast and in Cook Strait. Moderate southerly winds and smooth to moderate sons in the. eastern Tasinan. Weather cloudy and unsettled with rain in most districts, ; but more especially in tho North Island, jwhere some heavy falls are likely. Temperatures becoming cooler. RAINFALL RECORD.
