A NOTABLE WEDDING.

MEDIEVAL GOWN. Savouring of medieval magnificence was llio bridal robe 1 hat Miss Maureen Guinness wore at St.. Margaret's, Westminster, on her marriago (o Lord Ava, states a London writer. It had been specially designed in gleaming whito ducliess satin, bordered at the hem and sleeves in raised Madonna lilies of satin, with gold and metal leaves, after a Botticelli design. This embroidery of pearls and gold thread edged tho nccklino and long train. The tullo veil was the full length of the train itself, bordered with gold thread coming from a head-dress of amber leaves and opal orange blossom. A sheaf of Madonna lilies was carried. Miss Guinness had 11 attendants:— Lady Veronica Blackwood, Lady Honor Guinness, Lady Bridget Guinness, Miss G rani a Guinness, -Miss Rosemary Hope Yere, Miss "Babv" Jungman, Miss Valerie French, Miss Betty Williams, Miss Leonora Brooke, Miss Elizabeth Brooke and Miss Olivia I;itzßoy. They woro "Victorian" frocks of whito tulle, 'plain and pleated and starred with gold. The stiff Victorian corsages had a deep berthe—of (lie tulle, edged with u pleated frill—so the cape effect cleverly balanced the "bouffant" skirts of gathered and pleated tulle. Over 50yds. of tulle were employed in each of these quaint :jnd most attractive creations.' Golden and glass flowers were carried, arranged in stiff posies—as befitting the date of tho frocks. In order that everyone, relations and intimate friends, tenants and the crew of tho famous yacht. Fantome, might see all tho lovely wedding presents received by tho Earl of Ava and his bride, Miss Maureen Guinness, the Hon. Mrs. Ernest Guinness held three receptions during tho week. Some wonderful jewels were given fo Miss Guinness, and in the tall glass case were the wide bracelets which are now so fashionable. From her parents the bride had a diamond and "baguette" sapphire} design in three long pities, the blue stones on tho outside. Another uncommon bracelet was of cabuchon emeralds, sapphires and rubies, carved to represent leaves, and all clustered in a wide band, from her father, and a third was a ball design, with round pebble emeralds and diamond globes studded with rubies in each side. From Lord Ava the bride had an enviable diamond clip, rather like tho sticks of a fan, as well as a diamond bracelet with rubies at intervals; and a ruby and diamond ring.
