THE EMPIRE GAMES.
FINAL OF BOWLING PAIRS. BOXING AND WRESTLING EVENTS. (Received August 21, 5.3 p.in.) TORONTO. August 20. The Empire Games were continued today at Hamilton, Ontario. In the bowling tournament in the pairs England beat (South Africa, 36—8; New Zealand (McWhannell and Fielding) beat Canada, 19—16. New Zealand assumed an early lead and held it until the end. In the singles Colquhoun (England) beat Reid (Canada), 21—20. England won the pairs bowling title. .Now Zealand and Canada tied for second place. Owing to the rough weather the rowing events were postponed until to-morrow. At a meeting of delegates to-day it was decided to continue ihe Empire Games at regular intervals. A committee was appointed to arrange details. The members are: Messrs. T. R. Loudon (Canada); R. 11. Weir (Australia), Captain Wclsford (South Africa), R. J. TTobhs (New Zealand), J. T. Wadmore (England). They will report to a second meeting on I'riday. It is considered probable that the four years' plan will be adopted. The following aro results of the semifinals in the boxing contests held today : list. 61b. Class.-P. C. Gallagher (Australia) defeated Ed. Pierce (South Africa) and F. Mai in (England) defeated Teddy I'hillips (Canada). lOst. 71b. Class. —Leonard Hall (South Africa) defeated l'\ Rrookma.ii (England). 9st. Class. —F. 11. Meaohoin (England) defeated Paul Necteau (Canada). Bst. Class.—-T. Pardoo (England) defeated 11. Galloway (Canada). 9st. 91b. Class.—James Rowland (Scotland) defeated Albert Love (England). Bst. 61b. Class.—ll. Mizlcr (England) defeated Thomas Holt (Scotland). The finals of the wrostling bouts resulted: Bantam-weight: J. Trifunov (Canada) defeated Joe Reid (England). Light-weight: Sowie Thomas (Canada) defeated Harold Angus (England).
AUSTRALIAN SCULLER. RESIDENCE IN CANADA. 808 PEARCE'S DECISION. (Receiver! .August 21, 9.3 p.m.) TORONTO, August 20. It was officially announced at Hamilton this evening (lint Bob Pearce, Australian sculler, will become a resident of Hamilton with his father, who will coach the members of the Leandor Boat Club.
