DANCE AT TAUPAKI.
SPINSTERS' ANNUAL BALL The Taupaki Station Hall presented a bright appearance, recently when tho spinsters' annual ball was held. Soft lighting effects and artistic decorations with intertwined streamers, balloons and foliage, provided a charming setting for the many pretty frocks which were worn. The event was a great success, ac-1 was attended by a largo number of visitors from Auckland, Henderson, Swanson, Waitakere, Waimauku, Huapai, Kumeu, Brigham's Creek, Massoy and Helensvillo. The delightful dance music, which was provided by members from tho Mayfair and Kit Kat orchestras, was much appreciated. t Members of the spinsters' committee comprised:—Miss Winnifred Walker, Miss Olivo Sinton, Miss Flora Parker, Miss Nocline Smith, Miss Thelma Leslie, Miss Ruth Parker, Miss Chrissie Orrocks. Miss Ivy Borich, Miss Lily Carter, Miss Nellie Leslie. Much enjoyment and excitement prevailed during a competition dance, which was won by Miss Thelma Leslie and Mr. A. Glascow, and Miss Joyce Gooding and Mr. L. Rennid respectively. Among those present wore:—Mrs. A. Pearmen, jun,, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. McHveen, Mrs. N. Smith, Mrs. Leslie, Mrs. Augustine, Mrs. Borich, Mrs. A. Cottle, Mrs. Smyth, Mrs. H. Hunter, Mrs. Horsman, Mrs. Collins, Mrs. Hatton, Airs. Sawyer, Mrs. Heap, Mrs. J. Smith, and Mrs. Talmadge, Misses Sinton (2), Miss B. King, Miss E. Smyth, Miss Gooding, Miss E. Gould, Miss E. Wright, Miss A. Gould, Miss B. Shuttleworth, Miss WBoland, Miss M. Jones, Miss T.
