Mos.t" 'of. the .galloping |was' done "on. the; No. 3 grass, which was in good order'for'this timo of tho year, and several very useful gallops were recorded. ■ Thd outside of tho course proper along the.back was available for the, two-year-olds and several were galloped there, while the junipers had the use of,'the schooling hurdles and the steeplechase'courso. Foot Rule sped over five furlongs in 1.4 4-s—a smart effort under tho conditions. Foot Rule retains all her pace and may bo a useful hack sprinter this season. Lady Court was not extended while lunning six furlongs, but moved along very smoothly. Although sho has not grown much, Lady Court has mado some progress through tho winter and will not bo disgraced in early spring engagements. There was more merit than generally believed in her autumn win at Avondalo. Land Measure and Trace sprinted three furlongs in 39 4-ss. Land Measure is the more forward of tho two and .should be in good trim for tho spring meetings. After trotting onco round tho sand, Gold Money ' transferred to tho grass, where she cantered from tho winning post to the half-mile and then clapped on some pacO to run- homo in 53 l-ss. Gold Money does not look as bright as # she did in June, t but a few gallops should put her in good trim. Stimulant moved with plenty of freedom while running six furlongs in 1.21, This novice' three-year-old is on the upgrade and looks liko winning in his class;bcforo long. W.'Gall'-has'him woil forward. Ruling King, who trotted on ,tho sand first, ran. six furlongs in 1.25, and. Lady's Roy went threo furlongs in 44 1-Ss. Wild Country was a shade better than Day Form over six furlongs in 1.21, while Gay Cockudo easily beat Sir Archie over tho same distance in 1.20. Gay Cockade wont well, but Sir Archio did not appear to bo himself and was very distressed at the finish. Tui Mint was better than Real Mackay over threo furlongs in 39 3-ss. " Tui..Mint, a' gelding by Catmint—Adi Vunivola, hit out. fairly well for a novice. Tho Jcllicoo Handicap candidates," Maori Boy and Hannibal, were -on terms . at. the conclusion of a round in 1.43—a very useful gallop. They wore bofib. travelling well..at the- finish and should be! in- capital order to race next week. • ; *"' ~ Dominican ran right flway, from Absent in the concluding.' st-'agea 6i a' round,, which' ho covered; in 1;47: 4rfy- Dominican; a'grey hunter by Grey Donette,'. who is in J. was from Takanini to *£js;ji gallop -'.with pom ef' thing in his owx^^jafi^Tjbut very little nse tp V'v , '-.. : ?> i ;'.*' > ..- i Llanoro. strode over-Tovhf furlongs In gjj&l For a timo afttr- arriying-.from , Halp<ra Llanore was right 'off colour,- bi}t : jj.. Mashoor jumped in his usual bold style, while Solanio and Scaramoucho shaped very creditably. Marita bled and nearly fell.at the stonewall, which he hit very hard. COURSE PROPER.
