When the Australian cricketers resumed their second innings against Northamptonshire to-day, having had to follow on with a first innings score of 93 to 249 by the county, tho weather was fine and the wicket easy, although slightly worn. Jupp soon bowled Hurwood. Bradmau began brightly, but later runs camo slowly. Jupp was worrying Woodfull, who took an hour to make 13 runs. He and Bradman wiped off the deficit, but withjhe total 173 Bradman failed to hit properly and was caught at mid-on. He was slower than usual, but still batted attractively. The first 200 runs occupied 200 minutes. Kippax batted brightly for 25, and then fell a victim to Jupp, being caught on the boundary. After luncheon Richardson hit freoly and scored three fours off one over from Thomas. Woodfull meanwhile cautiously approached 100, which ho compiled in 290 minutes. It was a sound and solid innings. Richardson riddled tho field with fours and reached 50 in 65 minutes, timing perfectly. The scoro was 300 in 310 minutes. Woodfull was out next ball. Fairfax again failed. Richardson and a'Beckett continued to hit merrily. Richardson made a. chanceless century in 110 minutes. Not long after he was brilliantly caught at mid-on. Ho had hit one sixer and 17 fours, a great contrast with Woodfull's three fours. It was undoubtedly Richardson's best innings in England. The game thus ended in a draw.
