UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF.

The Glen Eden Town Board decided at its meeting on Tuesday evening to proceed with tho work on Croydon Road as a measure of unemployment relief. It was stated that twelve men would bo engaged oil it.

It was resolved to make application to the Municipal Association and to Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P., for steps to bo' taken to securo an amendment, to tho Rating Act so that relief on rates in cases of dwellings being unoccupied for six months should not bo granted in districts where the rating was on the unimproved values.
