NEW BRIDGE-DECK CRUISER. Good progress is being made by Messrs. C. Bailey. and Son on (lie new 33f(. by 10ft. bridge-deck cruiser. S!io has been planked and cleaned off and work is now being carried out on the decking. This boat lias rather more flare than the averago craft, and alto lias a decided tumble home afl. She has two 3ft. cabins and a separate, engine-room, which will lie fitted with a galley. Provision has been made for a small cockpit forward as well as one aft, and Ihe boat will have 6ft. of headroom throughout. She will be fitted with a 60 b.p. Glennifer engine and will be ready fot launching early in tho season. The Islington liiv Yacht Club is the latest addition lo Auckland's numerous yacht and launch clubs. Some of the week-end dwellers of this favourite bay have formed a small club, and during the coming season intend to bold races for 12ft. 6in. and other small boats in tho bay. Last season a most successful series of races was held and the formation of tho club is really the outcome of these events. The question of tho combined opening and closing yachting fixtures . for tho 1930-31 season will be discussed at a meeting '>f the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association on Tuesday, August 26. Tho New Zealand Power-Boat Association and also tho Outboard Division of the association will bold their prize, distribution in ihe rooms of the association on August 20. In addition to handing over 72 trophies, Ihe outboard division will also distribute C 65 in cash "prizes. The trophies include 10 valuable cups and several championship medal 3.
