REFUSE DESTRUCTOR.

NORTH SHORE PLANT. At n. meeting of the North Shore Destructor Commjtteo last evening Mr. J. D. Bodle, acting engineer to tho Takapuna Borough Council, reported that tho burning of refuse had been suspended pending repairs to the combustion chamber and furnaces at tho destructor, at a cost ot approximately £175. Tho refuse was meanwhile being buried at a site approved by the medical officer of health. The treasurer reported that the expenditure for the past six months had been £615, the working cost having increased by £l4O owing to tho fact that both coal' and oil had been used.
