FARMER FOUND SHOT.

Tho body of a farmer, Mr. Daniel Francis McKeoun, who lived on Hamilton Road, near Ngaruawahia, was found this doming ory his farm, with a gun lying close by. Tho deceased man went out with the gun, apparently to shoot rabbits. His failure to/return aroused alarm, and Dr. G. B. Isdale, of Ngaruawahia. was sent for. On arriving at the farm the doctor instituted a search and found the body of Mr. * McKeoun lying near the river tank, with very severe injuries to tho skull and the gun lying near An inquest concerning the death was held before Mr. Wy vern Wilson, the coroner, fhis afternoon. The medical evidence showed that deCeased had lately suffered from a violent form of influenza, and had Jieen slightly depressed/ lie had no financial worries. The coroner returned a verdict that death was the result of a gunshot wound, that tho evidence failed to discloso tow thy/ tragedy happened, and thero no evidence to show that he had intentionally taken his life. Mr. McK eoun, whoso farm is situated shout halfway between Ngaruawahia and Horotiu, near the local golf club, had lived in Ihe district all his life. Ho P'as married, and had no children. •
