AGRICULTURAL SOCIETIES.

YEAR AT TE AWAMUTU. LOSS INCURRED ON LAST SHOW. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. Tho annual report and -balance-sheet, which were presented at the tenth annual meeting of tho Te Awamutu Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association last evofling," indicated a loss on the last show in February of £24, but it was claimed that unfortunate circumstances affected the attendance, and this, together with increased prize-money, was mainly responsible for the financial result. The report was adopted and several members expressed suggestions for making the show even more popular. The following officers were elected for tho new term: —Patron, Mr. W. O. Park, Puahue; president, Mr. W. J. Melville, Pokuru; vice-presidents, Messrs. M. 11. Williams (Te Awamutu) and Hamilton Allen (Kihikihi); treasurer, Mr. F. Quin; auditor, Mr. G. 0. Jourdain; committee, the same as last year, with tho addition of Messrs. J. T. Johnson, A. L.- Storey, S. Gerrnnnn, S. Harris and H. C. Rainey.

It. was announced that "the association had been granted Wednesday, February 18, as the date for tho next show. Several recommendations for the improvement of next show were referred to tho incoming committee.

THE FRANKLIN SHOW. REVISION OF SCHEDULES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Saturday. At a meeting of tho executive of tho Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society last evening, over whteh the president, Mr. J. Pollock, presided, sub-com-mittees were appointed to revise last year's schedule and mako other preparations for the society's next annual show, to bo held at Pukekohe on February 13 and 14, 1931.
