It is not likely that the statement written by Arthur Thomas Munn and handed to the prison authorities shortly before his execution will be made public. Munn made the request that, the document should bo handed to the press, but according to information ho has received. the Minister of Justice, the. Hon. J. (J. Cobbe, does not think any pood purpose would he served by its publication. The substance of the document was telegraphed to the Minister by Mr. I>. L. Da Hard. Con: roller-General of Prisons, hut before deciding finally on the question of publication, Mr. C ohbc said this evening that lie would await Mr. Pallard's return from the North and would himself peruse the statement. The burial of Arthur Thomas Munn, u-ho was executed at Mount Eden prison on Tuesday morning, was carried out at the Waikumete cemetery yesterday morning. The prison authorities had previously ascertained that relatives did not "wish to flaim the body. StaffCnpiain Holmes, of the Salvation Army, who had been acting as Munn's spiritual adviser, and prison officials were the onlv persons present at the burial. The body was placed in <a grave in the "public area" at tho cemetery. StaffCaptain Holmes read a passage from Scripturo and offered a short prayer.
