A 16-year-old boy goiter, Olaf Austtaing. with a handicap of four, pcrformfd a remarkable feat on the reconstructed Shortlands course, lie went round in 65. which is seven strokes under bogey. . His card included eight bogeys, seven "birdies," and one "eagle." Austraing will later compete in the hoy.-/ championship at St. .Andrews. The records tor the Shoiflands links, which is near- Kavensbounie. Kent, were 72 by an amateur and Gb by a profe.-.-sional. Presumably the reconstructed course is more difiicuil. r i he course is of nine holes. Ihe recoid of the boy player was for two rounds.
