NEW ASSOCIATION'S PLANS. CONTROL BY EX-SERVICEMEN. The newly-formed wrestling body in Auckland held its first meeting on Monday when tlio title of the. " Auckland "Ex-servicemen's Wrestling Union " was adopted. Rules are being drawn up for the union by Mr. A. C. A. Sexton in accordance with the ruleß of the newly-constituted New Zealand Wrestling Union. Officers were elected and tho nuestion of promoting matches fully discussed. The first contest will probably be held within a fortnight. The following officers were elected President, Major-General Sir George Richardson; committee, Major-General Sir George Richardson, Liuulenunt-Colonel T. H. Dawson, Mr. A. C. A. Sexton, Mr. G. Reid; secretary and treasurer, Mr. 'J.. S. Miller. Mv. Miller stated that many prominent sportsmen in Auckland had promised their support. The union would appreciate any help from members of the old association, who would be eligible for membership. Ihe membership will not be limited to returned soldiers, civilians being eligible oil Pjy* ment of subscriptions. Mr. Miller appealed to all returned soldiers to support the union for tho benefit of the distressed returned soldiers, to whom the union's percentage ot (lie takings would go. Although civilians would be admitted to membership, the control would remain in the hands of the turned Soldiers' Association.
