THE SPIRIT WORLD.
Sir.—l desiro to make a frank and immediate acknowledgment of the error into which I have fallen in saying that "Raymond" uses tho words "poor chap of Jesus Christ. The original extract from tho book, mads by myself, from which 1 quoted, inadvertently omitted one wbola line, viz., "if none else can help thorn, Paul has seen him/' With these words omitted tho extract still makes good sensv and hence having once been tuaae t!M mistake was not easy cf detection. Bus unhappily the meaning of the passage was quite distorted. Nothing can excuse such an error in public discussion and I unreservedly express my regret at its ec* currence. That the omission as ucn>* tentional will no doubt be admitted,, sse* ing that I furnished detailed information as to where the passage might bo found. ( • Now that this supposed irreverence* n* s been shown not to exist, I should Uke to add that, after renewing my acquaintance with the book, I find the most com« plete reverence in the various references to Christ which "Raymond" is said to make. And may I be allowed to add, o without, in the least desiring to bebttja my error, that it does not in any serious degree weaken tho position, taken up i' l rny article, that tho case l'or spiritualism, is non-proven.
