CHURCH ANNIVERSARIES.

SPECIAL SERVICES HELD

Special services to mark the 89ih anni versary of the laying of the foundation stone of the old church were held at, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Syinonds Street, yesterday. The preacher in the morning was Canon F. W. Fancoui t, and the evening service was conducted by the Rev. J. Eccleston, sub-warden of St John's College. Special anthems were rendered. The 54th anniversary of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church. I'onsonby, was

commemorated yesterday. The speaker in the morning was the Rev. Isaac Jolly, while the Rev. Frazer Barton preached in the evening. The cantata "Song of 'J hanksgiving" was sung by the choir in ithe evening.
