THREE REACH VIENNA FIRST
British Wireless. RCO BY. July 25. Tlireo British air pilots, Mr. Alan 11 u t lei". Captain 11. Broad and Mr. Thorn, who were the first arrivals yesterday afternoon in the flying race round Europe, were closclv followed by two German aeroplanes piloted by Ilerr Boss and Hcrr Mortzig.
Earlv this morning the three British pilots left for Berno and afterwards continued their journey toward Munich, where, they arrived later in the following order: —Broad, Butler, Thorn. They were followed bv Herr Moetzig. Tho three British competitors reached Vienna this afternoon several hours ahead of tho others.
Captain Broad, in a Gipsy Moth, arrived first. Mr. Alan Butler, also in a Gipsy Math, arrived a few minutes afterwards, and Mr. Thorn in a Gipsy Avon, half an hour later. The weather conditions, including heavy rain, have made the contest extremely difficult.
