VENTURESOME AIRMEN.
WARNING IN SYDNEY.
NO FLYING UNDER BRIDGE
Only aerial pilots who wish to commit suicide are likely to fly under the Sydney Harbour Bridge until it is completed. Why they should desire to fly under it. then is difficult to understand in view of the fact that, tho feat would involve, a certain amount of unnecessary risk, says a correspondent, but they are hardly likely to attempt it now, for Mr. Ennis, who is in charge of the construction of tho bridge, has issued a warning. An airman recently caused a fluslor on the bridge and possibly endangered the lives of the men woiking at the greatest heights, who require all their attention for their work and safety. The airman flew under ono of the ends of tho arch and very close to it. Mr. Ennis now points out that as the ends are rapidly approaehing each other any attempt to fly between them will be hazardous .and that to fly under the bridge will be even more so. There are ropes and wires and various other contraptions hanging below tho bridge, these being part of tho gear used by the men iu moving about, the structure. Were an airman to hijeomo entangled in these he would encounter disaster, and ho might cause tho death of some of the workmen.
It is thought to be strange that any such warning should bo needed in a city where the people are credited with the possession of ordinary intelligence, but the bridge builders say that, there is nmph l evidence. Aviators who desire excitement have, talked of their intentions.
