CHILDHOOD STORIES.
" TOM SAWYER " ON SCREEN
A noteworthy aspect of the feature pictures on Parnmount's production programme for the season of 1930 31, will he the creation of three stories of childhood. These films, which will be designed for tho entertainment of adults as well as children, will be the first talking features to deal primarily with juvenile characters. Ihe first picture of this nature will be tho talking screen version of Mark Twain's humorous classic of boyhood, *' Tom Sawyer," marking the return of Jackio Coogan to the screen in the title role. Junior Durkin, who appeared on Broadway in " Courage," will have the role of Huckleberry Finn. Following the completion of "Tom Sawyer," the two juvenile stars will again bo featured in a screen version of Mark Twain's other widely-read story of school days, " Huckleberry Finn." Tho third of this type will bo " Skippy," a version of Percy Crosby's child cartoons.
