BRIDGE EVENINGS.
Miss Elsie Simmons was Hip guest of honour at very enjoyable bridge evening given by Miss Erena Ward at her home, Claudelands, on Saturday evening. Miss Ward received her guests in a frock of black lnce. The guest of honour wore floral taffeta. Prizes for the bridge were won by Miss N. Sergei and Miss B. Manning. Included among those present were:— Miss E. Norris, Miss D. ule, Miss R. Thompson (Auckland). Miss M. Gillies, Miss N. Sergei, Miss G. Hammond, Miss V. Watts, Miss B. Manning, Miss C. Cliitty, Miss M. Ross. Miss R. Wilson. Mrs. Alan Matthews entertained a number of friends to bridge or. Tuesday evening. The room was artistically decorated in bowls of daffodils, Iceland poppies and daphne. Prizes were won by Miss Elsie Simmons and Miss Norcen Sergei. Mrs. Matthews wore a frock of beige taffeta and net and velvet bridge coat. Among those present were: —Miss_ N. Sergei, Miss M. Rofjs, Miss C. Cliitty, Miss N. Jackson, Miss V. Watts, Miss F. Jolly, Miss K. Wilson, Miss D. Clark, Miss F. Hall, Miss E. Norris, Miss D. Yule, Miss E. Simmons. Musical Evening.
The musical circle of the Lyceum Club held their open evening in the Lyceum Club lounge on Tuesday. There was a good attendance of members. The programme included a piano duet by Mrs. Sinclair and Mrs. 11. Ferguson, songs by Mrs. E. Bouillon, Mrs. A. Sims, Mrs. Gordon Brown and Mrs. Senlis; piano solos, Mrs. W. Ilulse and Miss N. Voider; piano duo, Mrs. 11. Hammond and Mrs. 11. McMullin; piano quartette. Misses L. Valder, Money, M. Jones and M. Mears; glee, members of the musical Hide. Ihe accompaniments were played hv Mis. H. Hammond and Mrs. IT. McMullin. Among those present were:—Mrs. H. J. Fergus, convener of the circle. Mrs W. If. Hume, Mrs. H. J. McMullin. Mrs. J. 1). Smith, Mrs. Sherley. Mrs. Seal, Mrs. E.
