SOCIAL AND DANCE.
The first social evening to be held by the Auckland Women's League of the New Zealand United Party sinco the league's recent inauguration took place in the Society of Ar.'s lfall last evening. Dancing was enjoyed by a \ery large number of guests, and for those who preferred cards bridge arid five hundred tables were arranged in an anteroom. Multi-coloured streamers and sprays of red and yellow roses were artistically arranged in the ballroom, and popular music was provided by the Felix Orchestra. Songs by Miss F. Litherland were also greatly enjoyed. The ladies on the committee were: -Mrs. N. Yon Stunner, Mrs. .1. Trevethick. Mrs. Michaels, senior; Mrs. It. E. X. Matthews, Miss Stanton, Mrs. It. Cmighlan.
