FOURTH CRICKET TEST.

COMMENCEMENT ON FRIDAY.

CHANGES IN ENGLISH ATTACK

Tho fourth cricket test between England and Australia will commence at Old Trafford on Friday and be continued on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. England won the first test by 93 runs and Australia the second by seven wickets. The third test was drawn, although the honours were very much in favour of Australia, and the .interruption ot play through rain saved England from almost certain defeat. The test commencing on Friday will therefore create tremendous interest throughout the cricket world. In an endeavour to stop tho Australians from completely mastering its attack, as happened in the third test, England has made changes in its eleven. has been dropped m favour of N'ohols. Tho latter toured with tho ai.UU team in New Zealand last season. On performances here it is surprising ho was favoured before Allom. Peebles and Robins have gained preference over Geary and lyldeslev. Tho two first-named arc both slow howlers. Peebles gains test honours for tho tirst time, but Robins played in tho liisl and second tests. The fourth test may possibly bo the deciding one, but should it bo drawn tho fifth and final test, commencing at the Oval on August 16j will be played to a finish.
