Spewer, a keen flier, accompanied by Miss Glacb'S Gra:c, a. daughter of .Admiral H. j; Grace and a grand-daughter of the late l'r. W- ( '• Grace, the once-famous cricketer, took 1 off from Dctling aerodrome in Lieutenant Spencer's two-seater aeroplane, which he piloted. Thev circled around, looped the loop cmco and wore doing so again when the machine nose-dived from a low altitude, crashed and burst into llnmes. Both occupants weie burned to death. Mi?s Grace's brother-in-law. Commander Worthington, and his wife, witnessed the crash. Thev ran to the aeroplane, but were driven back by sheets of flame.
Miss Grace was 26 years of ago and was an excellent pilot. Sho narrowly escaped death in March when a machine in which she was flying crashed near Ilanible after a nose-divo from a height of 2000i't. ■ Sho was severely injured, but recovered and resumed flying. The ill-fated girl's sister, Miss Bessie Grace, had crashed at the same spot in 1928, but was not badly hurt.
