Having left Wellington at 7.20 a.m. on Saturday the Atlantic Union Oil CompanyV chartered tanker Bisca is due at Auckland at mid-day to-day. The vessel will berth at Western Wharf to continue unloading bulk oil from San Pedro. She will afterwards proceed to Sydney to complete discharge. The Bisca is a now Norwegian motor-tanker of GOB 3 tons gross. She was | launched early this year from the yards j of Armstroug-Whitworth and Company, j Limited, Walker-on-Tyne. Her contract j speed is 10} knots, but on her trials her speed, reached 11.20 knots. Tho propelling machinery consists of a six-cylinder Arm-strong-Sulzer single acting two-stroke Diesel engine, built by Mes3is. Armstrong-Whit-worth and capable of developing 3120 b.p. The auxiliary machinery consiste of refrigerating machinery, a system of pumpß, both steam and electrically driven, boiler feed injectors, two three-stage air compressors, oil purifierß for both lubricating and fuel oil, one ten-ton evaporator, an oil-burning installation, and a set of dynamos and full electrical equipment. The shipis fitted with a wireless direction-fiuder. Tho ship can carry 83-19 tons of petrol, and provision is made for 720 tons of oil fuel. There are two fresh-water tanks, each with a capacity for 5691 gallons, and 774 tons of water ballast can be carried. The bridge is situated amidships, with tho engines and fuuncl aft. There are two masts and a full eauiP® 6ll ' of deck machinery.

After unloading a quantity of cargo for Fiji the vessel will proceed to Wellington to land passengers and mail for New Zealand. Tho remainder of the cargo is for discharge at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. THE lIIKURANGI. The small steamer ilikurnngi returned from Norfolk Inland last evening and berthed at King's Wharf. Tho vessel left Auckland on July 11 and reached Norfolk Island Inst Tuesday morning. Strong northerly winds and rough head seas delayed the vessel on the trip and at times her speed was only four knots. Tho vessel proved a good sea boat and owing to her being lightly loaded she was very buoyant. On the return trip the vessel left Norfolk Island on Thursday afternoon and sho experienced light northerly winds until Hearing the North Cape, when the wind changed to the south-West and continued from that direction to port. The vessel took about 80 tons of general cargo to Ihe island and returned with 000 cases of oranges and u small quantity of potatoes. _ Ijer future movements have not been decided.
