THE AUCKLAND 'EXCHANGE. BUSINESS BELOW NORMAL. Another slack day was experienced on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. A further increase was made by buyers of Government investments, offers lor 1941 War Bonds being advanced 5s to £99 6s, but sailers continued to hold firmly. Banks again reflected weakening influences. Commercials of Australia, which were responsible for tho only deal in the group, changed hands 2d lower at 21s 2d, after which buyers lowered their limits from 21s Id to 21s. Offors for New South Wales were reduced by 5s to £35 10s, and sellers, who on Wednesday wanted £37, were prepared to release at £36. Tho easier price of £ll 3s 6d was offered for Unions, and New Zealands were wanted 3d cheaper at 56s 9d. In insurance the demand for New Zealands was also a shado easier. In loan and agency buyers came on to tho market for Dalgetys, which have received little attention, at £lO 2s 6d. The quotation by sellers of £lO 17s was subsequently reduced to £lO 15s. Less support was accorded Goldsbrough-Morts, which were inquired for 3d lower at 26s 6d. Sellers gave way 3d to 27s 9d. The demand was unaltered in coals. Renowns were dono at the current price, 15s 3d. A slight easing in Auckland Gas left offers on a lower basis at 255. Sellers asked 265. A weaker market existed for New Zealand Breweries, which were substantially marked down on the level of the last business done on tho Auckland Exchange. Yesterday two parcels of tho shares changed hands at 49s 3d, compared with 51s 6d, which was obtained on July 2. The last sale in Christchurch this week was at 49s 6d. Slightly better inquiry was made for leading Now Zealand stocks listed in general investments, but the section as a whole was weak. New Zealand Drugs were sought at 61s, sellers wanting 4s more. Milne and Choyco debenture stock made a current-price sale at 24s 9d, without disturbing quotations. New Zealand Farmers' Fertilisers, which had sale late on Tuesday at 21s, were unchanged. Offers for more were 3d easier. For Taranaki Oils holders asked 3s, buyers increasing their offers 2d to 2s 3d. Interest showed indications of a revival in mining investments which have been through a quiet period. An offer of 7d for Moanataiaris received a selling quotation of Is 6(1. Inquiry for Ivawaraus and Ohinemuris was reinstated at 2d. Waihis were taken unaltered at 14s, and further supplies were sought at 13s lid. The demand for Mount Lyells firmed during the day from 23s 3d to 23s 9d, and rights were sought 2d dearer at 2s 4d. Irt tins buyers advanced their limits 3d to 18s for Kampong Lanjuts, with sellers at 18s 9:1. Kuala Kampars, for which 5s 4d was asked, were sought at 4s lOd. CLOSING QUOTATIONS. Buyers.
