BLENDING OF BUTTER.
NO CONCERN OF SELLER. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VIEW. A recommendation from its exporters' committee tlint no action should bo taken in endeavouring to prevent I lie uso of New Zealand butter for blending purposes in countries of destination was adopted at a meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday. The committeo staled its view was that, onco I lie sale of the butter had been effected the subsequent fate and treatment of it was no longer the concern of tho original vendor. Mr. F. If. Leonard said the complaints to a large extent, arose from the notion of Canadian merchants in selling New Zealand butter under their own brand, but having an inside label stamped "New Zealand butter." 'Hie butter was pure New Zealand butter. Mr. A. (!. Lunn said he understood there were definite cases of Canadian merchants selling butter in packages bearing the label, "This package contains New Zealand butter," whereas the butter was blended. Mr. W. A. Boucher said the only solution was for New Zealand to advertise its commodities in each country.
