NATIVE LAND COURT.

AUCKLAND SESSION OPENS.

The Native Land Court commenced its sessions in Auckland yesterday, when a number of applications for land titles and succession orders was heard and native wills were granted probate. Mr. 11. F. Ayson was the presiding Judge. A further session will bo held by Mr. Ayson this morning, and in tho afternoon Mr. F. 0. V. Acheson will continue hearing tho claim by tho Orakei Maoris for the return of their papakainga, or homesite, and the site of the church in their settlement. The case, which arose from a petition by 16 Maoris, was commenced at tlie end of March and is expected to conehulo to-day.
