YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH. Auckland.—Fog in the early morn in.? yesterday was followed by bright and sunny weather during the day, with a light wind from the south. Fog was again prevalent last evening, and (ho night was warmer tlian thoso of the past week. The barometer was steady, ilia reading being 30.35 in. Wellington.—Weather usually associated with September rather than v»ith July was experienced yesterday. Tho sun shone from a clear sky and a !ight< breeze came from the north. The temperature was unusually mild. Cliristchurch.—After a light frost, 6.5 degrees, yesterday morning was fin", but. clouds gathered after mid day and there was a sprinkling of rain at 4.30 p.m. Light rain continued in the evening. The wind was light from tha south-west. Tho maximum temperatura in the day was 50 degrees. The barometer was fairly steady and the reading in the evening was 30.33 in. Dunedin.— I The weather was fine in Dunedin yesterday, with more cloud than sunshine and a very light wind from the south-west. The maximum temperatura was 54 degress. The barometer was high and steady, the evening reading being 30.25 in.
