REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURE. WELLINGTON AND AUCKLAND. STRONG VISITING ELEVEN. The Wellington representative team, challengers in the English Trophy contest against Auckland at Blandford ' Park tomorrow, will arrive in Auckland this morning with its manager. Mr. J. M.- Coleman. Tho combination is reputed to bo the strongest that Wellington has produced, and, whilo recognising (ho stiff proposition facing it in Auckland, which has held tho trophy since its inception, it is said tho visiting team and supporters are confident of victory. Taken individually, tho team possesses a fine goalkeeper in Parkin, considered the equal of, if not better than, McVean, who delighted Auckland spectators last year with his brilliant showing against heavy odds. Tho back divisions are very strong, .7. Guest figuring in his usual position at fullback, whilo McLood and McCormack arc tho seasoned players in tho half-lino. The team is also recognised to have a brilliant centrehalf in It. Gcddi3, who, although new to representative football, has 'built up a fine roputation for clover constructive piny. Tho cream of the aide, however, lies in the forward line, which is tho speediest and best combined unit of tho team. Itigby and Smith arc well known to Aucklanders, whilo Cudby, who will play on tho left flank, was expected to outrival Auckland's crack wing, Kay. The latter is not availablo for Auckland, however, and will be replaced by Chalmers. Tho general feeling in the south is that Auckland will need a great team to gain victory. However, it is certain that tho Auckland eleven, which h:i3 played uo well iri past seasons, will provide the visitors with powerful opposition. Given lino weather and fast underfoot conditions tomorrow there is no reason why tho contest should not produce some of the best football seen ill Auckland for many years.
