THIEF IN CATHEDRAL.

WOMAN'S HANDBAG STOLEN. A thief surreptitiously stole the hand bag of a woman who was kneeling in prayer at St. Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, the other day. The bag contained only a few shillings. Its loss was lit>l noticed until tho worshipper was about to leave. Ihe cathedral and found that it had been taken from the pew. Thieves have visited several churches recently and committed thefts of a similar nature.
