BROKEN HILL TROUBLE.
THREE MINES CLOSED. 3000 MEN QUT OF WORK. SHOP EMPLOYEES ON STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received July 1, 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 1. Advices from Broken Hill state that owing to the rejection by the miners of a 17i per cent, cut in wages three of the chief mines have been closed and 3000 men are idle. Additional trouble has been created by the refusal of the employees in the largest shops to accept a 48-hour week. All the employees are on strike.
