DROWNED IN DRAIN.
— ( CHILD'S ACCIDENTAL FALL. TELEGBA PH. —OWN COIUUCSrON'nENT. ] HAMILTON. Tuesday. An inquest was held before the coroner, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M.. last evening concerning the death of Alexander Powell, 'aged nearly two. a son of Stanley Powell, of Tramway Road, Claudelands, ■who was found drowned in a drain near his home yesterday. Evidence was given by Mrs, Myrtle Powell, mother of the child, of a search for the infant, who had been missing for only a short time. His body v. ;is found in the drain of an adjoining paddock.' A verdjet that death was caused by (drowning due to tho child's having accidentally fallen into the drain was returned.
