REVENUE FROM CUSTOMS.
INCREASE IN WELLINGTON. COMPARISON IN FIGURES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Wellington customs revenue figures for June show an increase of nearly £94,000 compared with the corresponding month last year. The net customs revenue collected in June, 1930, was £295,838, against £201.841 in June, 1929. For tho six months of this year the revenue was £1,539,402, compared with £1,394,676 in the corresponding period of 1929, an increase of £144,726. The duty collected on motor spirit in June, 1930, waS £45,433, as against £25,136 for June, 1929, an increase of £20,297. Tho figures for the six months of each year are £212.307 and £203,465, an increase of £8842.
The collections of tyre tax this month totalled £3500, compared with £2483 in June, 1929, an increase of £lOl7. For the six months a drop of £12,549 was recorded, the figures being £21,421 and £33,970 respectively. The beer excise collections in June, 1930, were £3851, as against £3702 for June, 1929. For the six months the figures were £27,232 and £24,697 respectively, an increase of £2535.
