SMALL AUSTRALIAN STATES. SUGGESTED CONFERENCE< At a meeting of business men in Hobarfc recently, it was decided to forward a ttlcgram to the. Premier o: Western Australia, Sir James Mitcholl, suggesting a meeting at Adelaide as soon as passible between delegates of the Western Australian Dominion League and representatives from Tasmania to discuss matters appertaining to tho relationship <•>! the smaller States with the Commonwealth. Sir James Mitchell was requested to get into touch with South Australian representatives with a vic*v to their taking part in tho conference. Statements submit ted .it the meeting estimated thai the direct losses to lasmania bv the Australian Navigation Act, in respect only to trans port, were more tuan £650,000 a year.
