GRADING OF FLAX.
FIGURES FOR PAST MONTH
Tlio quantities of licmp and tow graded in Auckland last month show largo decreases as compared with the amount for the corresponding month Inst year. With tho exception of low fair hemp fewer hales of all grades of both hemp and tow v.cro received. As has been the ease for a long period no stripper slips wore handled. Tho following table shows the number of bales graded last month, } lio figures for tho corresponding period last vear being given in parentheses:—
Hemp—Superfine, good fair, 100 (270); high fair, 292 (410); low fair, 355 ( 254); common, 81 (177); rejected, 30 (08) ; total, 858 (1159) bales. Tow. —No. 1, 73 (156); No. 2, 111 (136): No. 3, 24 (114); condemned, 16 (8); total, 224 (414) bales. Stripper Slips.—No. 3, demned,
