MAN FOUND DEAD.

FATAL WOUND IN THROAT. WIFE AND FAMILY LEFT. The body of Walter Nathaniel Lewis Valentine, aged 51, carpenter, was found in tho wash-house at his home in Prospect Road, Glen Eden, on Sunday afternoon. There was u large wound in the throat, and neai by <i table knife was found. Valentine was married, with four young children, the youngest being only two weeks old. His wife is suffering from pneumonia, and was to have been sent to hospital on Sunday.

An inquest was opened yesterday by tho coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., and evi■denco of identifieit on was given by a nephew of deceased, Theos Hardy Corbett. He said he had last seen deceased about two weeks previously Valentine was then unemployed. He appeared to he in his usual state of health, while his home life was happy. The coroner then adjourned tho inquest sine die.
