Of this amount, £350 will bo required on the Public Works section, and £IOO on that controlled by the Obincmuri County Council . Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., has advised that the Minister of Public Works has intimated that tho department will pay the whole of tho cost on tho Public Works section, and £SO toward tho county portion, providing tho county council finds tho remaining £SO. INSPECTION OF THE ROAD.. . WORST PLACES CLEARED. [CY TELEGRAPH.—OWN . CORRESPONDENT.] TE AKQHA, Monday. An inspection of tho WhangamataWaihi road has been made by a Public Works engineer and tho Obincmuri County Council engineer. They reported that tho road had: been washed baro of all material for nearly 1 four miles. It was possible to drivo a car from Whangamata to Waihi, but in the opinion of tho engineers the journey should not bo attempted except under oxtremo necessity. Tho worst places, caused by r-Ms and heavy boulders, bad'' been cleared.
