A meeting of representatives of local bodies was held this morning to discuss matters in connection with tho Hikurangi swamp drainage. It was decided to approach the Hon. A. J. Murdoch and Mr. H. M. Rushworth, M.P., and ask them to urge upon the Government tho need for improving tho outfall below Lewis Bridge in order to allow flood waters to got away more quickly from the Hikurangi-Jordan area.
